An iconic instrument for a smaller space that never compromises. Poul Henningsen’s unmistakable 1939 design of the PH Upright Piano balances its artistic composition with a commitment to sonic integrity. Like its brother, the PH Grand Piano, this upright piano is clothed in a customizable combination of metal, wood and supple leather. First imagined at the inception of the Mid-Century Modern style, this instrument meets the highest musical standards of today. Manufactured exclusively by PH Pianos, this piano action, casing, and soundboard are all crafted from the finest European sources. One’s eye is drawn to its unusually curved resonating chamber, which contributes to a warmer sound. The reflective chrome facade is reminiscent of the famous PH lamp: the casing of the piano seems to emit sound in warm layers, just as the PH lamp was designed to angle light downward in a soft and diffused manner. Unlike their traditional matte black counterparts, the ebony-hued keys of the PH upright piano are subtly pearlescent, lending an intriguing glow to the keyboard. And, as with the Henningsen grand piano designs, the keys reach out to the player. Not to be overlooked, this piano has a small footprint, yet makes a bold statement. No matter the size of the space, no home is complete without a piano that tells a story. PH Furniture & Pianos have some items in stock; they do not offer a quick ship program or rush order option.
