Garsnas AB dates back to 1893. The company represents an “icon” of Scandinavian design. Since 2003 the company has been family owned by Dag and Anna Klockby and Ake Axelsson (Anna’s father), a well-known interior architect and prodigious furniture maker whose career spans over 60 years. Ake’s first Garsnas chair dates back to 1963 and continues to be in production. With its factory being located in the Osterlen region, with woods sourced in nearby forests, the company’s specialty has been in wood designs (bent wood in beech is an example providing remarkable strength despite its light weight). All furniture produced is environmentally declared, Mobelfakta tested and the factory is ISO 14001 Certified. The new factory expansion and renovation combines the ideal combination of human craftsmanship and state of the art technology. The Garsnas brand has grown dramatically over the last 15 years and has won great acclaim in Sweden and internationally. The company has achieved particular success in addressing the needs for public use furniture and for that reason its products adhere to the rigorous testing and quality requirements for such furniture. In recent years, the designs have increasingly become appropriate for home use. Garsnas adheres to the impeccable Scandinavian values of: beautiful and functional design, exceptional product quality and durability, leading edge innovation, and environmental compliance and sustainability. The Garsnas Good As New US-based program epitomizes the incomparable sustainability story. Garsnas works with some of the leading product designers including David Ericsson, Farg & Blanche, Nina Jobs, Pierre Sindre, and many others.
